Aerial data acquisition at Shiphol airport
High-resolution aerial images with 4 cm resolution
In 2016 BSF Swissphoto was commissioned for the first time to capture aerial photographs with a resolution of 4 cm for two years in the Schiphol region. A total area of 900 km2 had to be surveyed, for which 40 flying hours were planned.
This area means a great challenge in terms of flight conditions, as Schiphol Airport is one of the busiest airports in Europe, with take-offs and landings every minute. The flight windows are therefore very short and can only be flown in strict coordination with the Dutch aviation security authority.
BSF Swissphoto thus had to be highly flexible and efficient in terms of mobilisation and flight realisation. The company mastered these challenges very well and was repeatedly commissioned with the flights in 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
